Claudia Sheinbaum se convertirá en la primera mujer presidenta de México, al obtener casi 30 puntos de ventaja sobre su contrincante de oposición, Xóchitl Gálvez, de acuerdo con el conteo rápido del INE.
La candidata de Sigamos Haciendo Historia perfilaba una amplia ventaja con una votación de entre 58.3% y 60.7% de votación. La opositora Gálvez Ruiz, abanderada del PAN, PRI y PRD, logró entre 26.6% y 28.6%.
El tercer lugar fue para el candidato de MC, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, con 9.9% a 10.8%.
De acuerdo con la consejera presidenta del INE, Guadalupe Taddei, este conteo pone a Morena, PT y PVEM en camino de obtener la mayoría calificada en el Senado y la Cámara de Diputados. El resultado salió en medio de retrasos y dudas, ya que Taddei estimó que podría salir después de las 10:30 de la noche. Sin embargo, se fue aplazando hasta anunciarse casi al filo de la medianoche. El Comité Técnico de los Conteos Rápidos, integrado por 11 especialistas, utilizó una muestra de 7 mil 500 casillas para hacer las estimaciones anunciadas.
Por separado, el Programa de Resultados Electorales Preliminares confirmaba la tendencia.
